Mark Abbott
Drums
Mark Abbott almost never made it as a drummer. Mark’s right thumb was accidentally severed during a production of Hair at the University of California, East Bay. Surgeons successfully reattached the thumb using microscopes and laser technologies. He returned to the set bandaged and continued drumming in this musical production—using one hand. This set of circumstances impressed several other performers, leading to Mark’s inclusion in the formation of the band, Box Set. The band’s 1994 debut album was critically acclaimed by Billboard. leading to two “Bammies” (California Music Awards). Mark’s drumming has been featured in DRUM Magazine. He has toured the country with Box Set and the band sold out the historic Fillmore West three times. Mark has recorded in some of the finest studios in the country. He has also been turfed out of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for having: a) stepped over the rope, and b) proceeding to play on the Led Zeppelin drum kit, belonging to John Bonham. The physical ejection has left Mark undaunted, and unmarked.

Marshall Luck
Keyboards, Lead and Backing Vocals
Marshall Luck is a Bay Area musician, songwriter, and chiropractor whose work lives at the intersection of sound, energy, and human connection. A founding member of the bands Voodoo Switch and Passenger, Marshall has spent decades developing an improvisational style rooted in feel, dynamics, and the emotional arc of a song. Growing up in the Bay Area and living in San Francisco since 1994, he has absorbed a wide spectrum of influences — from the progressive precision of Rush to the fearless exploration of Grateful Dead, the soul-jazz groove of Jimmy McGriff, and the deeply human songwriting of Bruce Hornsby. Outside of music, Marshall owns and practices at Rincon Chiropractic & Acupuncture, where his understanding of healing, rhythm, and energy informs both his clinical work and his approach to performance. Whether on stage or in practice, his focus remains the same: creating space for movement, connection, and transformation. With Free Moment, Marshall brings that philosophy fully into focus — blending spontaneity, groove, and emotional honesty into music designed to move people intellectually, emotionally, and physically.
